Here is our full policy outlined.

General Policies (in effect until further notice):

  1. No entry to anyone unless fever free – under 99F (thermometer will be at desk to check all employees and visitors). 
  2. Anyone who is sick, or feeling sick will not be admitted.
  3. Masks are mandatory for all employees and volunteers.
  4. Maintain 6’ minimum physical/social distance between non-family individuals at all times.
  5. Limit the number of people in the establishment to ensure social distancing at all times.
  6. Hand-washing or hand sanitizer mandatory upon entry and exit of the gym
  7. Employees will use of hand sanitizer prior to, and after, touching common use items
  8. Regular employee sanitation of high touch point areas every two hours with spray bottle and 1000 ppm bleach solution or approved alternate:
    1. Entry and exit door handles
    2. All free hand contact points (bars, weights, etc) seats and benches
    3. All exercise machine contact points (bars, pins, handles, etc), seats, and benches
    4. Entry 
    5. Gym iPads
    6. Keyboards
    7. Computer mouse
    8. Counter tops
    9. Microphones
    10. Vending machine
    11. Light switches
    12. Coffee stations
    13. Drinking fountains
    14. Bathroom door handles, faucets, stall handles, and sinks
  9. Gym to provide sanitizing wipes or hand sanitizer and single use towels for gym users to disinfect equipment used
  10.  Additional requirements for gym users:
    1. Sanitize all free hand contact points as described above
    2. Sanitize all exercise machine contact points as described above

COVID 19 Prevention Policy:

If you are experiencing symptoms of the virus (fever, difficulty breathing, dry cough, and tiredness):

  • Immediately go home and self-isolate until you are fever free without the aid of fever reducing medications. During this time there should be absolutely no exposure to any co-workers or friends or visits to the gym under any circumstances. 
    1. We recommend using the CDC’s Self Checker Guide (middle of the webpage) to help you make the decision of whether or not you should seek medical care.
    2. *** Please note that this system is not intended for the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other conditions, including COVID-19.
  • If you do not have a test to determine if you are affected and contagious, you may return after all three of these things have happened:
    1. You have had no fever for at least 72 hours (that is three full days of no fever without the use medicine that reduces fevers)
    2. Other symptoms have improved (for example, when your cough or shortness of breath have improved)
    3. at least 7 days have passed since your symptoms first appeared
  • If you are tested to determine if you are affected and contagious, you return after after all three of these things have happened:
    1. You no longer have a fever (without the use of medicine that reduces fevers)
    2. Other symptoms have improved (for example, when your cough or shortness of breath have improved)
    3. You received two negative tests in a row, 24 hours apart. Your doctor will follow CDC guidelines.

Employment Policies

  • Employees must notify HR immediately ( to record symptom information and discuss potential available sick leave:
    1. Employee name 
    2. Email
    3. Starting date of symptoms
    4. Your supervisor’s email
  • If you receive a COVID19 positive result: 
    1.  Notify HR and your supervisor immediately and work with them to identify and notify any co-workers or gym members you may have been close to in the last 10 days. Those employees should then self-isolate themselves and follow the steps above.
    2. Ascent management will meet to discuss whether the following steps should be taken:
      1. Deep cleaning of affected area but continuing to remain open
      2. Affected area closed for 24 hours. Deep cleaning prior to re-opening to areas the public.

Non-policy, working operational process for using the gym

  1. Masks mandated for visitors in jurisdictions that require it – our staff will not police this unless mandated by that jurisdiction. We protect our staff and we do not want them to have to deal with conflict because of people’s personal beliefs.

    1. Lines outside: 6 ‘ spacing for lines –  Chalk squares
      1. Spray chalk and stencil to entertain/delight
    1. Greeter process – volunteer if at all possible
      1. Temperatures
      2. Spray on the way in
      3. Spray on exit
  3. Front desk processes
    1. Front desk staff needs to be trained to greet, too
    2. 6’ spacing at all times
      1. One works the floor, one works the computer
      2. Floor: cleans, keeps vibe awesome
    3. Do we handle cash? We don’t want it
      1. Hand sanitizer after touching cash
      2. Credit cards are pretty much the same thing anyway (have the visitors do it themselves on the reader)
      3. Scan card arrows to help with that made
    4. Front desk crew – staff
      1. Check in members
  4. Social distancing guidelines
    1. Lounges: 2 separate parties at table, one at each couch, etc
    2. Showers and locker rooms closed
  5. 24/7 messaging
    1. If you come in during unstaffed hours:
      1. Wash hands in and out
      2. Respect distancing and mask requirements
      3. Clean everything you touch in the weight room
    2. Put a sign up on the TVs
    3. Put up a paper sign at closing
    4. Set out of sanitizer
    5. Scanning in expressly agrees to policies posted outside the door
